Abyssborn Review & Gameplay Guide

I just spent the last 20 hours playing Abyssborn and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. I'd seen some gameplay videos before I started playing, but nothing really prepared me for just how immersive this game is. The world is so rich and detailed, with this crazy deep lore that's just begging to be explored. The story's pretty engaging too - you play as this character who's trying to uncover the secrets of their past, and it's all tied up in this mysterious force that's threatening to destroy the world.

One of the things that really stood out to me was the combat system. It's this weird mix of action and strategy that takes some getting used to, but once you've got the hang of it, it's really satisfying. The enemies are all pretty unique and require different tactics to beat, which keeps things interesting. I did find myself getting a bit frustrated with some of the boss fights, though - they can be pretty tough, and it feels like you're just memorizing patterns rather than actually using strategy. Still, it's not enough to detract from the overall experience.

The characters in the game are also worth mentioning. They're all pretty well-developed, with their own personalities and motivations. I especially liked the main character's companion - she's this sassy, no-nonsense woman who's always cracking jokes and keeping things light, even in the darkest moments. The voice acting's top-notch too, which really helps bring the characters to life. My only complaint is that some of the supporting characters feel a bit one-dimensional - they're just kind of... there, without much depth or backstory.

As I played through the game, I started to notice some pretty significant performance issues. The frame rate would drop to like, 20 FPS or something, and it would get really stuttery. It was especially bad in areas with a lot of enemies or special effects. I'm not sure if it's just my rig or if it's a problem with the game itself, but it was definitely annoying. I also encountered a few bugs here and there - nothing game-breaking, but still pretty frustrating. I'm hoping the devs will patch these issues soon, because it's really taking away from the overall experience.

Despite the technical issues, I'm still really enjoying Abyssborn. The world is just so engaging, and I feel like there's still so much to explore and discover. I've already started a second playthrough, trying to find all the secrets and side quests I missed the first time around. If you're a fan of action RPGs or just looking for something new to sink your teeth into, I'd definitely recommend checking out Abyssborn. Just be aware of the potential performance issues, and maybe wait for a patch or two before diving in.

Overall, I'd say Abyssborn is a solid 8 out of 10. It's got its flaws, but the engaging world and satisfying combat make up for it. With a bit of polish and some bug fixes, this game could easily be a 9 or 10. As it stands, I'm just excited to see where the devs take it from here - there's definitely potential for some amazing DLC or sequels. If you're on the fence, I'd say give it a shot - just don't expect a perfectly smooth experience, at least not yet.
