Drive Car Review & Gameplay Guide

I just spent the last few hours playing Drive Car and I have to say, it's been a pretty mixed bag for me. I mean, I went into it thinking it was going to be this super realistic driving simulator, but what I got was something that felt more like an arcade game. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing - I love a good arcade game as much as the next guy - but it just wasn't what I was expecting. The graphics are pretty solid, I'll give it that. The cars look nice, the environments are well detailed, and the overall presentation is top notch.

But the gameplay is where things start to get a little weird. The handling on the cars feels really slippery, like they're driving on ice or something. I know some people might like that, but for me, it just felt like I was fighting the car the whole time. And the AI is pretty sketchy too - sometimes the other cars would just stop in the middle of the road for no reason, or they'd be driving along and then suddenly swerve into me. It was pretty frustrating, to be honest. I also noticed that the game has a pretty limited selection of cars, which is a bit of a bummer. I mean, I know it's not supposed to be a realistic simulator or anything, but it would've been nice to have a few more options.

One thing that Drive Car does get right, though, is the sense of speed. When you're cruising down the highway at 100 miles an hour, it feels fast. It feels exhilarating, even. And the game's soundtrack is pretty great too - it's got this awesome electronic vibe that really gets you pumped up and ready to drive. I found myself getting into this zone where I was just driving and listening to the music, and it was actually pretty enjoyable. But then I'd hit a bump or something and the car would start spinning out of control, and I'd be like "oh yeah, right, this game has some major issues".

I think what really disappoints me about Drive Car is that it feels like it had the potential to be something really special. The core concept is great - who doesn't love driving fast cars and listening to awesome music? But the execution just falls short in so many ways. The game feels like it was rushed out the door, like the developers just didn't have the time or resources to really polish it up. And that's a shame, because I think with a bit more work, Drive Car could've been something really amazing.

As it stands, though, I'd say Drive Car is worth checking out if you're a fan of arcade-style driving games. It's not going to blow your mind or anything, but it's a fun way to pass the time. Just don't go in expecting a realistic simulator, because you're going to be disappointed. And even if you're not a huge fan of driving games, the soundtrack alone might be worth the price of admission. It's just a shame that the rest of the game can't quite live up to the standard set by the music.

Overall, I'd give Drive Car a solid 6 out of 10. It's not a bad game by any means, but it's just not particularly memorable either. I'll probably end up playing it again at some point, just because it's a fun way to waste some time, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone who's looking for a really great driving game. Maybe with a few patches or updates, Drive Car could become something special, but for now, it's just an okay game that could've been so much more.
