I just spent the last few days playing GermAway, and I have to say, it's been a wild ride. The game's premise is pretty simple: you play as a tiny cleaning robot, tasked with disinfecting a dirty, germ-infested world. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. The levels are deceptively tough, and it takes some serious skill and strategy to get through them without getting overwhelmed by the sheer number of germs on the screen.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about the game's art style. The graphics are pretty basic, and the color palette is mostly just different shades of blue and green. But as I played more, I started to appreciate the simplicity of it all. The game's world is surprisingly charming, and the germ designs are actually pretty clever. They all have different behaviors and weaknesses, which adds a fun layer of depth to the gameplay. Some germs are fast and aggressive, while others are slow and easy to pick off. It's up to you to figure out the best way to take them down.

The controls in GermAway are super responsive, which is great because you'll need to be quick on your toes to survive. The robot can move around and shoot disinfectant in different directions, and you can also use special power-ups to give yourself an edge. My favorite power-up is the "uv blast", which clears out a big area of germs and gives you a temporary shield. It's super satisfying to use, and it's often the difference between making it through a tough level and getting completely overwhelmed.

One thing that really impressed me about GermAway is the level design. The game's levels are all carefully crafted to be challenging but fair, with plenty of opportunities to learn and improve. I never felt like I was getting frustrated because the game was being cheap or unfair - it was always my own fault when I messed up. And when I finally did beat a tough level, it felt amazing. The game also has a pretty cool soundtrack, with a mix of electronic and pop music that's perfect for getting you pumped up and ready to take on the germs.

If I have any criticisms of GermAway, it's that the game can get a bit repetitive after a while. The levels all start to feel a bit samey, and the germ designs don't really change that much as you progress through the game. It's not a huge problem, but it did make me feel like I was just going through the motions sometimes. That being said, the game is still a lot of fun, and I found myself coming back to it again and again even when I wasn't really feeling like playing.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend GermAway to anyone looking for a fun, challenging game to play. It's not perfect, but it's a great way to pass the time, and the satisfaction of beating a tough level is hard to beat. Plus, the game's theme of disinfecting a dirty world is actually pretty relevant right now, so that's a nice bonus. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be playing GermAway, but for now, it's definitely a game that I'm happy to have in my rotation.
