Girl Explorer: Jigsaw Puzzles Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last hour playing Girl Explorer: Jigsaw Puzzles, and I've got to say, it's been a pretty relaxing experience. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I downloaded the game - the name makes it sound like it's geared towards a younger audience, but hey, I love a good puzzle, so I figured I'd give it a shot. The game's got a cute, cartoonish vibe that's definitely appealing, and the music is pretty soothing, so that's a plus right off the bat.
The gameplay itself is pretty straightforward - you're presented with a series of jigsaw puzzles, and you've got to put the pieces in the right place to complete the picture. The puzzles start off pretty easy, but they get progressively harder as you go along, which is good because it keeps things interesting. One thing that's kind of cool is that the puzzles are all based on different locations around the world, so you get to see some pretty neat scenery as you play. The girl explorer herself is also a fun character - she's got a lot of personality, and the little animations she does when you complete a puzzle are pretty adorable.
Now, I'm not gonna lie, the game's not exactly challenging. I mean, I'm a decent puzzle solver, but I'm not like a genius or anything, and I was still able to breeze through most of the puzzles without too much trouble. That being said, it's not like the game's trying to be super hard or anything - it's really more about relaxing and having fun, and in that sense, it succeeds. I did find myself getting a little frustrated with some of the puzzle pieces, though - sometimes it's hard to tell where they're supposed to go, and that can get a bit annoying.
One thing that's kind of disappointing is that the game doesn't have a whole lot of content. I mean, there are only like 50 puzzles or so, and once you've completed them all, there's not really much to do. There's a daily puzzle feature, which is cool, but it's not like it's a huge incentive to keep playing or anything. I also wish there were more options for customizing the game - like, it would be nice to be able to choose the difficulty level or the puzzle size, but right now, it's pretty much one size fits all.
Despite its limitations, though, I've actually had a pretty good time playing Girl Explorer: Jigsaw Puzzles. It's not a game that's going to keep you on the edge of your seat or anything, but it's a great way to unwind and relax. And hey, the price is right - it's free to download, and there aren't any annoying ads or in-app purchases to deal with, which is a definite plus. So if you're looking for a casual, low-key puzzle game, this might be worth checking out.
Overall, I'd say Girl Explorer: Jigsaw Puzzles is a solid, if unremarkable, puzzle game. It's not going to win any awards or anything, but it's a fun way to pass the time, and it's definitely suitable for all ages. If you're a fan of jigsaw puzzles, you'll probably enjoy it, and even if you're not, it's still worth giving a shot. Just don't expect it to be too challenging or anything - it's really more about having fun and relaxing than it is about testing your skills.
