Horse Racing Review & Gameplay Guide

I just spent the last weekend playing Horse Racing, and I've got to say, it was a pretty mixed bag. I mean, I'm a fan of racing games in general, and I was excited to get my hands on a game that focused specifically on horse racing. I've played a few other racing games before, like Forza and Need for Speed, but I was looking forward to trying something a bit different. The game started off pretty well, the graphics were nice and the sound design was good, I loved the sound of the horses galloping and the crowd cheering.

But as I started playing, I realized that the game was way too easy. I mean, I'm not even kidding, I was winning every single race without even trying. I'd just hold down the accelerate button and my horse would zoom past all the others, it was like they were standing still. I was expecting a bit more challenge, you know, something to make me feel like I was actually competing. But no, the game just seemed to hand me victory after victory on a silver platter. And don't even get me started on the AI, it was like the other horses were just going through the motions, they didn't even seem to be trying to win.

Now, I know some people might be thinking, "but isn't horse racing all about just riding a horse and trying to be the fastest?" And yeah, that's true, but there's more to it than that. In real horse racing, you've got to take into account things like the track conditions, the weight of the jockey, the horse's individual strengths and weaknesses. But in this game, none of that seemed to matter. It was just a matter of picking a horse and riding it to the finish line, there was no strategy involved at all. And that's what made the game so boring, it was just too simplistic.

Despite all my complaints, I did kind of enjoy the game's career mode. You get to create your own jockey and work your way up from the bottom, competing in smaller races and gradually building up your skills and reputation. It was pretty cool, and it added a bit of depth to the game that I wasn't expecting. But even in career mode, the gameplay was still way too easy, and I found myself getting bored after a while. I mean, when you're winning every single race, it's just not exciting anymore. I think the game would have been way more enjoyable if they'd added some more challenges, like tougher AI opponents or more realistic track conditions.

I'm not gonna lie, I was also a bit disappointed by the game's lack of customization options. I mean, you can't even customize your jockey's appearance, let alone your horse's. It would have been cool to be able to choose different colors and patterns for your horse's saddle and bridle, or to customize your jockey's helmet and uniform. But no, you're stuck with the default options, which got pretty boring after a while. And don't even get me started on the lack of multiplayer, I mean, what's the point of a racing game if you can't compete against other players?

Overall, I'd say that Horse Racing is an okay game, but it's definitely not the best. If you're a die-hard fan of horse racing, you might enjoy it, but for everyone else, I'd say there are better options out there. The game's just too easy, and it lacks the depth and complexity that you'd find in other racing games. But hey, if you're looking for a casual, laid-back gaming experience, you might enjoy it. Just don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed.
