Extreme Car Racing Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing Extreme Car Racing and I've got to say, it's a real mixed bag. On the one hand, the game looks and sounds amazing - the graphics are super smooth and the sound effects are totally on point. I mean, the roar of the engines, the screech of the tires, it all feels really immersive and it definitely gets your adrenaline pumping. But on the other hand, the gameplay is a bit of a letdown. I mean, it's your standard racing game fare - you've got your usual array of cars, tracks, and modes, but it all feels a bit too familiar and not particularly original.
One of the things that really bugged me about Extreme Car Racing is the controls. I'm playing on PC, and the keyboard controls feel really clunky and unresponsive. I mean, I've played plenty of racing games before, but this one just didn't feel right. The cars feel really slippery and hard to handle, and it's way too easy to spin out or crash. I tried using a controller, but it wasn't much better - the game just doesn't seem to be optimized for PC, and it shows. Maybe if you're playing on a console it's a different story, but for PC gamers, be prepared for some frustration.
Despite the control issues, I did have some fun with Extreme Car Racing. The game's got a pretty cool career mode, where you can work your way up from a lowly rookie to a championship winner. It's nothing new, but it's a good way to structure the game and give you some sense of progression. And the tracks themselves are pretty cool - there's a good mix of real-world locations and fictional tracks, and they're all pretty well-designed. I particularly liked the night races, which add an extra layer of challenge and atmosphere to the game.
But even with the career mode and the tracks, I couldn't shake the feeling that Extreme Car Racing is just a bit too shallow. I mean, there's no real depth to the game - no complex mechanics, no interesting storyline, no nothing. It's just a straightforward racing game, and that's it. And don't even get me started on the AI - it's super aggressive and prone to ramming you off the track, which gets old fast. I mean, I've seen some pretty bad AI in my time, but this is something else.
I think the biggest problem with Extreme Car Racing is that it's just not very original. I mean, we've seen all this before - the same old racing game mechanics, the same old tracks, the same old cars. There's nothing new or interesting here, and that makes it hard to get excited about the game. If you're a hardcore racing fan, you might find something to like, but for the rest of us, it's just not worth it. I'd say wait for a sale or something - it's not worth full price, that's for sure.
Overall, I'd say Extreme Car Racing is a decent but not great game. It's got some good points - the graphics, the sound, the career mode - but it's also got some major flaws. The controls are clunky, the gameplay is shallow, and the AI is terrible. If you're looking for a good racing game, there are definitely better options out there. But if you're a fan of the genre and you're looking for something to pass the time, Extreme Car Racing might be worth a look. Just don't expect too much, and you might have a bit of fun.
