TENKYU Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last hour playing Tenkyu, and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. At first, I thought it was just another one of those simple, mindless games that you play for a few minutes and then delete, but boy was I wrong. The gameplay is super simple, you just roll a ball around a maze and try to get to the end, but it's actually really challenging. The controls are really sensitive, so it takes a while to get used to, but once you do, it's actually kind of satisfying to navigate the ball through the levels.
One thing that really stands out about Tenkyu is the level design. The mazes are really well thought out, with lots of twists and turns that require you to think ahead and plan your route. It's not just a matter of rolling the ball straight to the end, you have to use the walls and obstacles to your advantage. And just when you think you've got it figured out, the game throws in some new twist, like a tunnel that flips the ball upside down or a conveyor belt that sends it flying in a different direction. It's really clever, and it keeps the game from getting too boring or repetitive.
But even with all the clever level design, Tenkyu isn't without its frustrations. There were several times when I swore at my phone in frustration, usually because I had misjudged a turn or didn't realize how fast the ball was going. And sometimes the game can be a bit too sensitive, so you'll find yourself restarting a level over and over again just because the ball slipped out of control. It's not the most forgiving game, that's for sure. Still, the sense of accomplishment when you finally beat a level is really satisfying, so it's hard to stay mad for long.
I've seen some reviews that say Tenkyu is a bit too short, and I can kind of see what they mean. There aren't a ton of levels, and if you're really good, you can probably beat the whole game in under an hour. But to be honest, I think that's part of the game's charm. It's not meant to be some epic, 50-hour adventure, it's just a quick, fun distraction. And besides, the game has a really high replay value, since you can try to beat your own times and scores on each level. So even when you've finished the game, you can still go back and try to improve your skills.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend Tenkyu to anyone who's looking for a fun, challenging game to play on the go. It's not perfect, and it can be a bit frustrating at times, but it's just so clever and well-designed that it's hard not to love. And the best part is, it's totally free, so you've got nothing to lose. Just be prepared to spend a few hours yelling at your phone in frustration, because trust me, it's going to happen.
I'm not sure how much more I'll play Tenkyu in the long run, but for now, it's definitely a game that I'll keep on my phone. It's just one of those games that's easy to pick up and play for a few minutes, and it's great for when you're waiting in line or on the bus. And who knows, maybe I'll even try to beat all the levels with a perfect score, although that's definitely going to take some practice. Anyway, if you haven't checked out Tenkyu yet, I'd definitely give it a shot โ it's a really fun game that's worth playing, even if it does drive you a little crazy sometimes.
